Event Support Guidelines

To ensure your event receives marketing support, please submit your request according to the timeline below. This allows enough time to create and review marketing materials, complete compliance approval, and handle any printing or distribution needs.

  • Submit Event Request: At least 5 weeks before your event date
  • Marketing Launch: Begins 2 weeks prior, on the Monday before your event
  • Event asset requests include:
    • Flyer(s)
    • Email signature
    • Enplug
    • Social graphics
  • Available Upon Request:
    • Emails/SMS

Important Notes:

  • Open House events with full marketing support (TV, radio, outdoor advertising, flyers, email, text blasts, paid and organic social media) are scheduled and promoted institution wide.
  • Friends & Family and Crash-A-Class events are available for campuses to request year-round with standard support.

Event Best Practices, Tips & Suggestions

Open House

Make your Open House more impactful by incorporating the following best practices:

  • Promote the event to local high schools
  • Share on social media—both before and on the day of the event
  • Include engaging add-ons (e.g., blood drives, pulse checks, etc.)
  • Get involved with the local community—submit to community event calendars
  • Consider hosting a Career Fair during the Open House
  • Invite students’ Friends & Family to attend
  • Ensure the campus is clean and presentable
  • Provide refreshments for guests
  • Prepare staff and faculty to participate and engage

Career Fair

Boost employer turnout with these strategies:

  • Mention upcoming Career Fairs when setting up new externship sites
  • Let employers know about the Career Fair during routine phone or email communications
  • Cold calling? See job postings on sites like Indeed or SimplyHired? Use it as an opportunity to invite them
  • When marketing graduates to employers, highlight the upcoming Career Fair
  • Reach out to employers who have participated in past events and inform them of the upcoming fair (include tentative month)
